Head of the Trent Regatta
At the heart of the Head of the Trent weekend is the world-class regatta, running October 3 and 4 (8:30 a.m. - 5:45 p.m. both days). Visit the Regatta website for more information, including race schedule and race day results.
NEW for 2026: With the ongoing revitalization of the Faryon Bridge, spectators can watch the races and cheer on Excalibur rowers from the new finish line and viewing area, located just behind the Student Centre.

About the Head of the Trent Regatta
Founded in 1971, the Head of the Trent is one of Canada's premier rowing events, welcoming more than 1,400 athletes in 800 boats from over 50 universities, rowing clubs, and schools. Competitors race a scenic 4.7 km course along the Trent-Severn Canal and Otonabee River, finishing at Trent University's Symons Campus.

Boat Class Key
- 1x = Single scull (1 rower, 2 oars)
- 2x = Double scull (2 rowers, 2 oars each)
- 2- = Pair (2 rowers, 1 oar each, no coxswain)
- 4+ = Four (4 rowers, 1 oar each, with coxswain)
- 4x = Four (4 rowers, 1 oar each, no coxswain)
- 8+ = Eight (8 rowers, 1 oar each, with coxswain)
Race Categories
- University = Current university students
- Alumni = Former students
- JV = Junior Varsity
- Novice = New rowers
- LWT = Lightweight category
- Mixed = Men and women in the same boat
