Frequently Asked Questions

The myTrent portal is a secure platform that provides alumni with access to their tax forms, transcripts, Trent Library Services, and other valuable benefits and services. You can also update your alumni record with current contact information and modify your communication preferences while signed in to your account.

To access the myTrent portal, you must have an active myTrent account.  Visit the myTrent portal access page for more information.

All Trent alumni can sign up for a personal Trent Alumni email account (@alumni.trentu.ca), hosted by Microsoft Outlook 365.

If you had previously been using Trent alumni email, you can reactivate your account and complete the migration to Microsoft Office 365.

Transcripts, degrees and student records are managed through The Office of the Registrar.

The Alumni Engagement & Services Department cannot issue or expedite transcript requests. For assistance, contact the Office of the Registrar at registrar@trentu.ca or 705-748-1215.

To update your alumni record with current details, including your preferred name, mailing address, or phone number, please visit the Update Contact Info page. 

Please note: Changes to your preferred name will only affect communications from the External Relations and Development Department. Official university records, such as transcripts, financial documents, and insurance, will continue to use your legal name on file.

To change the legal first or last name on your official Trent University record, please contact the Office of the Registrar by email registrar@trentu.ca- supporting documentation will be required to complete your request.

If your original degree parchment has been lost or damaged, you can order a replacement from the Office of the Registrar by completing the Request for Replacement of Degree Certificate form. A replacement fee of $75 applies. Please allow 5-7 weeks for processing.

Tuition, scholarship, and employment related tax forms can be accessed through the myTrent portal. For assistance regarding myTrent accounts, visit our myTrent Accounts & Portal Access page.

For T4A (for scholarships and bursaries) and T2202A (for tuition) forms, log in to the myTrent portal then select the Finances tab in the top right corner. Under the “My Account” section, select the Tax Forms icon. If your forms are no longer visible, they may have been archived. To request a copy, please contact the Student Accounts office at studentaccounts@trentu.ca or call 705-748-1317.

For T4 (employment income) forms, select the VIP icon, navigate to the My Pay tab, followed by the Year End Information tab. Your T4 forms will be listed in chronological order. If you need assistance accessing your T4, please contact the Payroll Office at payroll@trentu.ca.

Alumni are eligible for a 25% discount on select merchandise in store and online (please see Bookstore staff for exclusions, including degree frames.) To redeem your discount, you will need to provide proof of your alumni status (in store) or your student number (online).

While we cannot share anyone’s contact information due to privacy regulations, we can forward a message on your behalf. Simply email us at alumni@trentu.ca with your note and the name of the person you’d like to reach. If we have current contact information on file and they’re open to reconnecting, they’ll be able to get in touch with you directly.
